Drawing Paper Layout
The Drawing Paper is an interactive tool where you can output a PDF drawing of your vehicle. This is tied to the same drawing document as the 3D drawing.
In the toolbar you can:
- Change the Paper Size.
- Change paper orientation.
- Change the border width and spacing.
- Set an exact scale (this will scale the Vehicle images).
- Export to PDF or if you only want the images export them out separately or as you have aligned them on the page.
- Turn on a Snap Grid and change the grid spacing. This can help you align your paper elements.
- Change the default font size - so that when adding new text you don't have to manually adjust the font size every time.
Paper Elements
On the left side of the paper you will see different elements that can be added to the page.
All of these changes are added to the undo/redo, from positioning to size to deleting.
Text
This is regular text. By clicking on it, it will spawn a text element at the top left of the page. Or you can click and drag from the button to place the text element where your mouse is. Double Click the text element to edit it. Right Click the text element to change the font size of it individually or lock its position in place so you don't accidently move it.
Rich Text
Exactly the same behaviour to spawn as regular text. This does not allow you to change font size numerically but has other customisation when entering text such as bullet points / bold / italics.
Tables
You can also add Tables to your drawing paper. Double click on a cell to enter text. You can drag on a row/column line to resize that row/column. You can scale the table with the button at the bottom right by dragging. This will enlarge the rows and columns but keep the text at the same size. Right Click a table cell for more options, some are cell specific and some are for the whole table.
Top Left:
- You can add/remove rows/columns from the selected cell.
- You can paste in a table from Excel starting at the selected cell. If there are insufficient rows/columns, extra rows/columns will be added automatically.
Top Right:
- You can merge cells right or below. Only square cells are accepted. For example if you need a 2x2 then you need to merge the top two then bottom two then you can merge the top and bottom.
- You can also unmerge.
Bottom Right:
- You can lock the table in place. This will prevent any column/row resizing and positioning of the table. Text can still be altered.
- Make other columns match the width of the selected cell's column.
- Make all columns equal in width.
Bottom Left:
- The main button is to align the text (similar prompt to dimensions).
- Change all the font sizes in the table.
- Or change just the font size in the cell.
Title Block
The title block is just a fixed table preset. You can edit this as a regular table. In the top right it will be filled with your company logo drawing icon. This is set by your Company Admin under the Company Settings page. The offset can be found by moving the image to the proper place and there are X,Y coordinates on the top left as you drag.
Mass Tables
In the bottom left of the paper there is a button to add mass tables. These are presets tables that fetch data automatically from the Vehicle model. We have:
- Mass Tables that list the maximum axle loads for different weight limit schemes.
- Vehicle Unit tare table that list the total tare weight of each Vehicle Unit.
